Bowling, it is in our blood

Sometimes, I feel like I was raised in a bowling alley.
No, not really. However, I did spend a LOT of time
in bowling alleys when I was growing up. I swear at
one time, I could name you every bowling alley in the state.

My parents are avid bowlers. Heck, they meet in a bowling alley.
Thus, bowling is definitely in my blood. And that gene definitely
carried over to my son. I mean come on, the child had a bowling ball
before he was even born. All of mom and dads grandchildren
had bowling balls before they were born.

JJ has been bowling since was 4 years old. That is when
he started in his very first league. He was so cute trying to
throw that ball down the lanes.

JJ bowled consistently until he hit middle school.
Sadly, he then found wrestling. Well, maybe I shouldn't
say sadly. Johnny and I have always been those parents
that if JJ wants to try a sport, then we let him. However,
the rule is in our house that if you start, you must finish the
season. Another rule is no more than one sport at a time.
Believe this rule was born out of necessity after a very long fall
of middle school football and fall baseball. YIKES!! So, while
he was wrestling, JJ gave up bowling for a while.

Happily, JJ has found his way back to bowling after 4 years.
This was helped in part by the same people who got him
into the sport to begin with, my parents. My parents signed
JJ back up for a league this winter and I could not be happier.
He has fell back in love with a sport he has loved since he was little.
Plus, it is a sport I actually know something about!

Since coming back, JJ has done a lot.
He has bowled his first 200 game.

He participated in his first tournament with his
grandpa. They had a blast together. Then to top it
all off, they came in 2nd in JJ's age bracket.

Now, JJ is volunteering his weekends to keep
score for the state tournament that is happening
at our bowling alley. I love that he is meeting a ton
of new people and enjoying the sport.

Just a side note, I know some would not count
bowling as a sport. However, I definitely feel it is a sport.
Heck, it is even in the Olympics. Plus, go throw a 12 to 16 pound
bowling ball for three games. You will then call it a sport too!

Have a blessed day everyone!

Love to you all!

No They Are Not All Mine

As some of you may or may not know, I am
currently working at a daycare. I currently work
with 10-12 one year olds daily. It is very hard but rewarding
work. Believe me, it is probably not for everyone, but
I do love my job.

Lately, we have been taking advantage of the
few beautiful days we have been blessed with lately.
It has been a long winter for both the kids and us, the teachers.
So, we have been taking the kids on walks around the city.

Now, if you know one-year olds, they are not going to
simply walk and hold hands. Even to think of that fanatsy
makes me laugh out loud. So, to make sure everyone is
safe and sound, all of our little darlings ride in strollers.
We have two two-seaters but then we have two that
resemble these:

Oh yea, a four-seater and a six-seater.
You want to talk about a workout.
Imagine these two filled with kids, especially the six-seater.
I am developing awesome leg and arm muscles from
pushing these monster strollers.

So, everytime we have the kids out in these strollers,
one question is inevitably asked - "Are they all yours?"
Of course the standard reply is "No, we work at a daycare."
It is the running joke of our walks. Though I love and protect them
as my own, they definitely are not all mine!
One of these days though, I am going to have a great laugh when
I look up and say this.

Have a great evening everyone!

Love to you all!

"I Love You"

If you have children, you know there is nothing like
getting that craft they make at school, church, etc.
No matter what it is, you know you will always cherish it.

Over the years, I have received many a craft from my son.
Some have long since gone or being put into storage.
However, there is one that I still have on proud display for all
to see when they come into my home.

I do not exactly remember when this little craft was made by JJ.
I seem to recall it was during a vacation bible school at Judson
Baptist Church. All I do remember is that when JJ brought it home,
it immediately was placed on the door handle of my front door.
There is hung until we moved. It has now been hanging on
my living room closet door for almost three years now.

It is nothing fancy. Just four Popsicle sticks, some black
construction paper, white paint and yarn. But honestly,
it means everything to me.

It is faded and looking old.  However,
that little "I Love You" sign will always have
a special place in my heart. First, because he was so excited
to give it to me. Second, because I will always have an "I Love You"
when he is grown and gone.

I guess that is why I get so excited about doing crafts with my
babies at work. I hope we make something for a mommy/daddy
that they will still have "hanging around" after 11 years and many more.

So, here is to little crafts and "I Love Yous"!

Have a wonderful night everyone!
Love to you all!

Tomato Soup and a future Zombie Apocalypse

Tomato soup,
I personally can NOT stand the stuff.
I will cook with it from time to time.
However, if you would ever just heat it up for me
to eat, you would be waiting a very long time for me
to eat.

My men love the stuff. Johnny, who does not even like
tomatoes, loves tomato soup. Strange? I think so - LOL!

However, it is funny how talking about hurting teeth, what
I want to eat (with my hurting teeth), tomato soup and a future Zombie
apocalypse all come together in one story.

Last night, my lovely husband was trying to be very helpful.
Since my braces were tightened on Monday, it hurts like the
dickens to bit into something. So, while he was pumping gas, I
walked into Kroger to look for my favorite soup.
Sadly, there was no soup to be had that night. They were sold out.

So, I get back into the car and Johnny asked where was my soup?
I explained that it was sold out and I did not see anything else that
caught my eye. This is when my hubby simply tastes, "Well, we
have tomato soup at home." Of course, I made a face.

Johnny was like "Seriously, you won't eat it,"
My reply was "Not even if that was the last thing to eat on the earth."
Does that tell you how much I dislike tomato soup?
Well, he then says "Even if tomato soup was the last thing to eat during
a zombie apocalypse, you would whether die than eat it?"
I was "Like yes, I would not eat the soup. Not even during
a zombie apocalypse."
Then my loving husband looks at me and says "Well you would eat the
soup because I would not want to stick a knife through your head when you
become a zombie."
I seriously started chuckling so hard, a tear slipped down my face.
I honestly think someone has been watching a little too much
"Walking Dead!"

So, here is to tomato soup and a future zombie apocalypse!!

Have a great evening everyone!!!

Decisions, Decisions!

Two months and two days.
That is how long it has been since I wrote a post on here.
It is always on my mind to write but time is not a friend
of mine currently. Plus, I had an expert look over my blog
and the recommendations where rough to hear.
So, I have been trying to decide what I should do with this blog.

I am happy to say I am not giving up on this blog.
I am going to work on it over this coming week and change
some things related to this blog. I want to concentrate on the
reason I began this blog in the first place.

Therefore, I ask you to bear with me while I revamp
this blog page!

I want to say "Thank You" to everyone that reads
this blog. I appreciate it very much. I know it is
relatively small compared to other blogs out there; however,
my writing does come from the heart. So, thank you!

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!!
Love to you all!
