Pinterest and my Ecard addiction

I love Pinterest!
I love those wonderful Ecards everyone posts everywhere!
Combine the two and you get one happy Sissy!

I don't know who comes up with these things,
but I would like to meet them and say "Thanks!"

Honestly, I usually find one that matches my mood
pretty much anytime I want too!

So, here are some of my all time favorites I have found on Pinterest!

I laugh everytime I see this one!
I had a principal in Jr High and HS that said "liberry"!!

And one that I wish I had had when I was in hygiene school!!

Love to you all!

My Favorite Christmas Songs

Actually, these are my top 10 Christmas songs.  If I were to actually list ALL of my favorites, you would be reading for days - LOL!

Now, some of these are traditional and some are not quite the traditional songs of Christmas.  However, these are the ones I look forward to hearing this time of year and make it seem like Christmas time.

#1 - Little Drummer Boy - Bing Crosby and David Bowie

#2 - White Christmas - Bing Crosby

Yes, can you tell I love Bing?  His voice is just amazing!!

#3 - The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole

I love both versions of this song.  However, Nat King Cole beats out Mel Torme
just a little bit!

#4 - Wizards in Winter - TSO

I love everything from TSO!  I have seen them in concert several times
and they have never failed to impress!

#5 - The Twelve Pains of Christmas - Bob Rivers

Yes, not a "traditional" Christmas song.  But who can not relate to something in this song.
It makes me laugh!!

#6 - Merry Christmas from the Family - Robert Earl Keene

Again, not a traditional Christmas song.  However, every year JJ and I play this one
over and over again, singing at the top of our lungs.  Ah, family bonding moments!!
Side note - I like the Montgomery Gentry version also!

#7 - O Holy Night

O Holy Night is a song I learned early on in my youth.  I have even caught myself singing
this song in July.

#8 - The First Noel

Another one omy favorite "traditional" songs of the season.  I am also proud to say
I can play a little of this one on the piano.

#9 - The Christmas Music from "A Charlie Brown Christmas"

My favorite cartoon show of the season!  I love the meaning behind it and
I love the music from the show!

#10 - The Opening Song to National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation"

I love this movie and I love the song at the opening.  Again, not a traditional song, but
still a very fun one!

So, there are my top 10 favorite Christmas songs.  Did one of your favorites make the list??

Okay, I have to add a bonus song!  I know people get annoyed with this song.  But it is
another that JJ and I like singing together!

Love to you all!!

Bill Engvall and My Son

My son loves the comedian Bill Engvall.  I am telling you, that child of mine will sit there and laugh until he is coughing/crying because he is laughing so hard.

It all started with these two CDs:

JJ borrowed these CDs from my mom over a year ago.  Yes they are still with us (Sorry about that mom!).  I probably should go out, buy our own copies of these two, and buy a couple of the ones we don't have.

I swear he has listened to these CDs so much, he has them memorized.  However, that does not stop him from belly laughing at every single track.  Johnny and I laugh more at JJ laughing than the actual CD sometimes.  It is just hilarious.

Here are some pictures I snapped tonight while JJ was listening to one of the CDs in the car.

See what I mean?  It is completely hilarious to listen to him and watch him while he is listening to these CDS.

I really wish Bill Engvall was still touring or something.  I would love for JJ to see him in person.  I think it would be completely AWESOME if he could actually meet Mr. Engvall.  I would like to meet Mr. Engvall just to be able to say "thank you."  Thank you for making my son laugh and allowing me to see his joy.

I leave you with one of JJ's (and mine also) favorite muscial songs from Bill Engvall.  It is called "Hollywood Indian Guides."  We sing it sometimes without even listening to the CD.  Enjoy!!

Love to you all!!

Countless Hours

It has always amazed me how much waiting we mothers (and fathers) do in the lifetime of our children. Have you ever thought how many hours we sit in cars, gyms, at different fields, etc waiting for our children to emerge? I can not even begin to think how many hours I have totaled up thus far in the 14 years JJ has been in this world. I am sure it would be high.

However, as I sat there today (in the rain), I realized I am thankful that I am able to let JJ do the things he likes to do. And if by allowing him to be happy means me sitting for countless more hours, then just keep adding on to the total!! It is totally worth it to me!!

Love to you all!!

My Commitment Renewed!

Sometimes a picture speaks VOLUMES!!  And a picture that was taken last night really spoke LOUDER than any picture that I have taken lately.

As you have read along the way, I have been on the weight loss journey for a while now.  Last August, I went low carb and began working out.  I felt wonderful!  I loved getting up and working out.  I loved actually going to the gym and working out.  I finally, for the first time in a long time, felt good about myself!  And the proof is in this picture (March 2012):

What makes this picture stand out in my mind is that I am actually wearing something that is tighter and I am not trying to hide myself in fabric.  Yes, there was a little pudge around the middle, but I was happy!

Now, fast forward until now (or last night to be exact).  When I saw the picture that I took with JJ, I seriously wanted to cry.  Even though I posted it (mainly because it with my pride and joy - JJ), I really wish I had not put it out there.  But since I did, I will share it here as well.  This is me now (December 2012):

What the HELL HAPPENED?!?!  Well, what happened is I let myself down!  I started making excuses!  I basically gave up!  And not only did I let myself down, I let JJ down as well.  Because when I started to fall back into my old ways, I let JJ fall back into bad habits also.

So, thanks to that picture above, my commitment has been renewed.  There will be NO more excuses.  I need to do this not only for me, but for my son as well!  Therefore, Monday morning is the new start!

Yes, I know it is the Christmas season.  Yes, I know it will be tough to start this during this time of year.  However, I also know that I can not keep yo-yoing like this.  I am tired of being tired.  I am tired of hiding myself under layers of clothes because I don't want to show my fat.  I am just tired of all of it!

Not many people know this, well only five people knew until now, I have actually even thought about having lap band surgery.  Thankfully though, my friend Terri gave me some wonderful advice and I decided against.

So, here we are again.  We start at the beginning and try to forget the past several months.  And I shout at the top of my lungs - "MY COMMITMENT IS RENEWED!!"

Love to you all!

What Have I Missed?!?!

Geesh, REALLY!!  A month and 4 days since my last post.  I really don't have anything to say but SORRY!

It has been a wild ride around here for the past month.  And sadly, this month doesn't look any easier.  However, I have REALLY missed writing.  Therefore, I am going to try to write something (whether big or small) everyday.

So, look for a new post later today.  I would write more this morning but I need to get my behind in gear.  It is a morning of several doctors appointments for my son today.  So, I need to get him and feed before we head out to the first one.

Hope everyone has been well!  I have missed you all!!

To leave you this morning, I am posting the link to one of my FAVORITE Christmas songs this time of year.  Not completely traditional but I love that I get to hear it several times during the season!

Have a good day everyone!

Let Us Give Thanks! Day 2 and 3

Yesterday, time got away from me due to getting ready for a craft show.  So, we will do day 2 and 3 in the same post.

Day 2 - I am thankful for my loving husband!  Johnny will never know how lucky I feel that he chose me to be his wife.  Though we have had our ups and downs, we manage to overcome it and move on.  He is truly my best friend!  I can not imagine my life without him and I thank God everyday for allowing me to be his wife.

Day 3 - I am thankful for my wonderful son!  JJ is true blessing and I give thanks to God everyday for allowing me to be his mother.  He is turning into such a wonderful young man.  My pride in him just grows more and more with each passing day.
